Unfortunately no, there is no overlap of components between the 1st edition solo expansion and the new 2nd Edition Solo & Fog of War Expansion. It is an entirely new product, system and component set. I.e. every component of the new product is needed thus an 'upgrade' would cost the same as just buying the new set.
The new solo / fog of war expansion uses 250 acrylic unit tiles for the a.i. and fog of war modes, and introduces all 5 factions in their own faction boxes. In addition to 80 CP cubes, all new A.I. commander cards, new instruction cards and new a.i. action decks.
